สำหรับเพื่อนๆ ที่เล่นข้ามสายพันธ์ระหว่าง OS เช่น windows และ linux ให้พึงระวัง
น่าตกใจเลยทีเดียวว่าไฟล์ ใน directory ของคุณอาจถูกทำลายได้ รวมถึงถ้าเป็น keylogger หรือ Trojan ก็อาจส่ง user name password ของคุณไปยังแหล่งอื่นได้
ไวรัสมันเข้าไปทำอะไร
จริงๆ แล้วไม่ใช่เรื่องใหม่เลยสำหรับ ผู้อาวุโสค่าย linux โดยเริ่มจากมีการทดลอง install Ubuntu บนเครื่องคอมพิวเตอร์ที่มี windows และมีไวรัส พบว่าไฟล์ที่จัดเก็บ ใน directory ของ linux ก็สามารถเจอ effect ได้เช่นกัน โดยตัวไวรัสสามารถส่งผลตั้งแต่ startup ไม่ได้จนถึงเกิดการทำงานแบบวนลูปไม่มีที่สิ้นสุด ดังจะเห็นได้เนืองๆ มีบางครั้งเจ้าตัวไวรัสจะพยายามแทรกตัวเข้าไปใน mail server และก็ส่ง email ออกไปเพื่อแพร่พันธ์

บางคนก็บอกว่า แก้ง่ายๆ ก็แค่อย่าให้ emulator ของคุณ เข้าเนตเวิร์คได้
แต่บ้างก็ว่านั่นไม่ใช่ทางแก้ที่ดี ขอเพียงแต่คุณรุ้ว่าคุณกำลังทำอะไร
บ้างก็บอกว่าจะเป็นการดีเลยถ้าคุณปล่อยให้ไวรัสทำงานโดยเชื่อมต่อไปยัง master แล้วคุณนั่งดูการทำงานของมัน เพื่อคุณจะได้เรียนรู้การควบคุมไวรัส ขอเพียงแต่คุณรู้ว่าคุณกำลังทำอะไรนั่นแหล่ะ มันก็จะไม่ส่งผลเสียหายจนเกินไป
แล้วคุณจะทำอะไรได้บ้าง
กลุ่มผู้พัฒนา Wine เองก็ไม่ได้นิ่งนอนใจ พัฒนา patch ขึ้นมาเพื่อความปลอดภัยและรัดกุมยิ่งขึ้นแต่ก็ใช่ว่าปัญหาจะหมดไป
คุณอาจจะใช้ 1. apt-getted ของ ClamAV ในการตรวจสอบไวรัส หรือ 2. avast!

Yes because Wine is a compatibility layer so there is the potential for malware written for windows to run in wine.
No because all the secruity features of linux are in place. So if you run a program with wine it does not have access to system files. And, as you can see, you have to run programs manually so you would have to for example open viruses or malware manually and run with wine.
So the situation is quite complex if you are writing malware for wine, first it has to run on windows (or to be more exact wine) as root and then it still has to exploit a linux vulnerability.

so in conclusion:
if you have wine installed and want to load WINDOWS programs RANDOMLY of the NET than yes you might want to use an anti-virus because YES you want to use THOSE WINDOWS programs.
if you are going to use normal Linux programs or the programs in the repositories, than NO you don't need an antivirus or spyware remover.

and yes jeffrey was very right that the windows emulator wine might have some security issues, but is really much much harder to get infected by using wine, than using normal windows.
however if wine does EVER get a virus, you just uninstall it. It still won't get access to the root file system.

ah เขียนเพิ่มลงไปนิโหน่ยในข่าวแล้วจ๊ะ จริงๆ แล้วข่าวนี้จะเหมาะสำหรับมือใหม่ใช้ ubuntu มากกว่าเพราะรุ่นเก่าๆ ก็คงควบคุมไวรัสกันจนชำนิชำนาญแล้ว

งง อะกำลังคุณถึงเรื่ออะไรกันนะ ตกลง virus มันทำงานบน Linux ที่ติดตั้ง wine แล้วทำงานบน wine
หรือ virus ทำงาน บน linux เลย
หรือเป็นอย่างอื่น
มีให้เล่น
มีให้เล่นอีกตัวน่าสนใจเลยนอกจาก ClamAV เดี๋ยวจะใส่เพิ่มลงไปในตัวเรื่องด้วย

สรุปให้ว่างี้ครับ
ถ้าใช้wineก็มีโอกาสเจอไวรัสเล่นงานได้ แต่ถ้าไม่เล่นwineก็ไม่ต้องกลัวไวรัสครับเพราะยังไม่มีไวรัสที่ทำงานบนubuntuตรงๆ(นอกจากผ่านwine)
